Today I had my youngest reader, age 18. She is precious. Her name is Lorena, and be sure to roll your “r” as you say her name.
The same goes for her mother, Vera. I’ve never had both mother and daughter readers. Steve and Josh are studying with a father and son–Steve with the father, Josh with the son. So we have interesting combinations.
Here we have older readers than anywhere we’ve taught. I have a 41- year-old who is a mother for the first time and brings baby Samuel with her.
All of them are eager to learn English in order to improve their lives, but they are also willing to talk about important spiritual topics. Today one reader asked me my impression of what heaven will be like.
How would you answer that? How does Lazarus resting in Abraham’s bosom coincide with rising to meet him in the air? We expect Judgment Day, but we also are comforted by the fact that our loved ones who have passed on are safely with Jesus in heaven. When will they rise to meet him in the air? Does Judgment Day come at different times for each person?
So–I end up having as many questions as my readers do! But I have confidence that all our questions and answers are guided by our great and all-knowing God. Thanks be to God for all his marvelous guidance! May you also feel his guiding hand.
