Post #16 in the Blog Every Day in May Challenge, 250 words or less. Prompt for May 16: Something difficult about your “lot in life” and how you’re working to overcome it.
This prompt is the hardest yet. I have nothing difficult about my lot in life; I am totally content.
I do have a problem with focus. I start on one task, get distracted, and move on to something else. What was I saying? Oh, yes. Focus.
I start writing a blog and remember that I need to pack for our upcoming trip. I start packing and remember that I didn’t call to cancel the newspaper. I call to suspend the paper and remember I need to print out a travel list, so I do.
And then I…let’s see. I still need to find my hiking stick…but by the time I get to the basement I may have other ideas about why I’m there.
Yes, I guess that is my lot in life that I’d better be working on. My only solution is keeping lists of everything as it pops into my mind. Now where did I put that stack of lists?

You sound like me. I do the same things. I am supposed to be packing for a weekend trip, but I have to get the car washed and press off a couple of things. But what am I doing? Reading blogs. Keeping lists is a great idea. I had one yesterday, but I lost it.

And last night I was trying to keep up on this crazy every day blog posting you got me started on! Now we’re 30 minutes past our planned departure, but at least there’s no deadline–just our self-imposed one.
