Kinley, Landry, Knox, and Finn – 2023
Steve was the pulpit minister for the Central Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, for 42 years. Central is a warm, loving congregation that welcomes diversity in every way. Our members range from CEOs to residents of the group home across the street. Each Wednesday evening we offer a free dinner to all who come, cooked and served by our members. I credit our children’s faithfulness to both God’s grace and guidance of us and the grace and guidance offered them by Central’s members and teachers.
Our children are Josh and Gina Boyd of Lafayette, Indiana, and their children Kinley and Knox. (Kinley Abigail—Presidential plus Bible, and Knox Andrew—Presidential plus Bible, and the same monogram—no small feat!) Josh is professor of communication at Purdue University and Gina teaches grades 4 and 5 gifted and talented at Mayflower Mill Elementary. They work and worship with the Elmwood Church in Lafayette, Indiana, where Josh is the preaching minister.
Our daughter and her husband, Kelsey and Stephen Byers, live in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, a delightful small town, with son Findlay Mahony Boyd Byers (local landmark + her birthfather + us) and daughter Landra Laure Revlett Byers (Lanita & Sandra, grandmothers + maternal grandfather Lawrence + paternal grandmother’s surname.) Kelsey teaches ELL classes at Lloyd High School in Erlanger, Kentucky, and Stephen is an electrical engineer with Brown and Caldwell. They worship with us at the Central Church.
Steve and I live in Newport, Kentucky, just ten minutes across the Ohio River from the Cincinnati Reds’ Great American Ball Park, which they can see from their deck. It’s an ideal location and convenient to the Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport and great restaurants, and only 21 minutes from the Central Church.
